Biography

Dr. Tariq Ahmad, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiovascular Medicine) and the Chief of the Heart Failure Program. He specializes in treating advanced heart failure, abnormal heart rhythms, and renovascular hypertension. Dr. Ahmad is experienced in various treatments and procedures, including Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy, Transthoracic Cryoablation, Supraventricular Tachycardia Ablation, Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation, Mini-Maze Procedure, and the use of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ahmad has conducted extensive research on heart health, heart failure, and treatment methods. His research interests cover a wide range of topics, such as the effects of medications and treatments on heart conditions, the impact of race, ethnicity, and obesity on heart transplant outcomes, and the role of technology in improving patient care.
