Biography

Isabel Bazan, MD, is a pulmonologist and critical care specialist who cares for patients with general pulmonary conditions and pulmonary vascular disorders. She also treats patients in the Yale Medicine Post-COVID-19 Recovery Program, which offers pulmonary-focused, multidisciplinary evaluation and care for patients recovering from COVID-19.

“My interest in medicine began with the desire to help underserved communities, and it grew with my passion for science, particularly in the area of cardiopulmonary physiology,” Dr. Bazan says. “The post-COVID patients in particular have been a rewarding group to work with and learn from since we are still trying to understand the disease.”

In addition to her work as a clinician, Dr. Bazan has research interests in diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in the areas of disparities in health care and medical education.
