Biography
Dr. Michael Leslie, DO, FAAOS, FAOA, is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation and specializes in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery, Hip and Knee Orthopedic Surgery, and Trauma & Fracture Care. He treats patients of all age groups, from children to geriatrics, and is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Leslie is currently accepting new patients and is available for appointments in Milford and Wallingford.
His clinical practice focuses on joint-related issues, particularly the knee and hip. Dr. Leslie performs procedures such as Abrasion Arthroplasty, steroid injections, minimally invasive total knee replacement, Barium Enema or Lower GI Series, Hepatobiliary Scan (HIDA Scan), and Hip Joint Debridement. He is skilled in diagnosing and treating knee osteoarthritis and pelvic pain.
Dr. Leslie's research interests include various aspects of bone fractures and trauma care, such as recovery time after hip fractures in older adults, factors related to heel bone fractures, and how insurance affects access to pain management for trauma patients. He also explores different treatment options for hip fractures, the impact of helmets in motorcycle accidents, and methods for diagnosing and treating specific types of fractures.
