Lisa Gale Suter, MD
Biography
Lisa G. Suter, MD, is a rheumatologist and internist who says she approaches each patient’s condition holistically.
“Inflammation and pain can impact many aspects of a person's physical, social, and emotional well-being,” she says. “I try to see, hear, and treat the whole person.”
Dr. Suter says her field requires doctors to be creative detectives and problem-solvers. “Once I understand what my patients need and why, then I can work collaboratively with them to address their concerns,” she says.
“I am the luckiest person on earth,” Dr. Suter says. “I work with smart, kind, inspirational, mission-driven people committed to improving health care and clinical outcomes for all patients.”
In her research, she investigates quality measurement and how to use medical technology in musculoskeletal and inflammatory diseases.
Dr. Suter is director of quality measurement programs at Yale School of Medicine.
