Biography

Dr. Brown has a varied and extensive background within clinical neuropsychology. This includes both pediatric and adult neuropsychology experience during his internship and fellowship. His clinical experience has included: lifespan services through Easter Seals; Learning Disorder, ADHD, and Career focused assessments for young adults at Landmark College and for other universities; and private practice with evaluations covering the lifespan and various concerns. In addition to his position at Yale, he continues part time private practice work, medico-legal evaluations, and case reviews for both plaintiff and defense attorneys.

Dr. Brown was first at Yale in the Neurosurgery department where he provided neuropsychological evaluations and supervised trainees for pediatric patients. He is now in the Neurology Department at Yale where he is the Chief of the Neuropsychology Division, and provides services to patients with epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and cognitive complaints for various reasons. He also provides evaluations for NFL Players as part of the Concussion Settlement Program.

His research interests also reflect his diverse experience and includes publications and presentations within the areas of sleep disorders, learning disorders, ADHD, epilepsy, memory disorders, and multiple sclerosis. At present, he is focused on improving ways to assess cognitive inefficiency, particularly among MS patients; and visual memory changes associated with epilepsy surgery.

In addition to his paid activities, he volunteers his time on several boards within relevant professional associations (AACN & AACNF), reviews board certification application written samples, and has written grants to improve diversity within the field of neuropsychology.
