Christina Allen, MD, FAAOS, FAOA, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, with a focus on treating knee injuries, particularly those involving the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Dr. Allen is the Sports Medicine Division Chief and Vice Chair of Athletic Medicine and Community Outreach in the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation at Yale Medicine. She is also a Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine.

Dr. Allen specializes in Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Repair and Revision, as well as Shoulder and Elbow Orthopedic Surgery. Her clinical practice includes treating various knee problems, such as knee pain, stiffness, and joint pain. She is experienced in performing different types of knee surgeries, including abrasion arthroplasty, minimally invasive total knee replacement, and partial knee replacement. Dr. Allen can also provide knee joint steroid injections to help reduce pain and inflammation.

In her research, Dr. Allen focuses on understanding and improving the treatment of knee injuries. Her studies explore factors that affect patient recovery after ACL reconstruction surgery, the best techniques for diagnosing and treating these injuries, and the outcomes and potential complications of ACL reconstruction.
