Hypercholesterolemia (High Cholesterol)
Quarter-pound burgers, French fries, deep-fried chicken…our modern diets are often high in unhealthy fats. The fact that extra fats are so easily available in popular food has caused a spike in the number of U.S. residents with high cholesterol, which is the diagnosis given when a person has an unusually high level of fats in their blood. While high cholesterol can lead to potentially life-threatening conditions such as heart attack and stroke, it can also be easily managed through diet, exercise, and medication.
