Scleroderma

Definition

Scleroderma is a rare, chronic autoimmune disease characterized by the hardening and tightening of the skin and connective tissues. It occurs due to an overproduction of collagen, affecting various body parts, including the skin, blood vessels, internal organs, and digestive tract. The severity of scleroderma varies from mild to life-threatening, depending on the extent of organ involvement.
