Atypical Fibroxanthoma

Definition

Atypical fibroxanthoma is a rare, benign skin tumor characterized by the presence of spindle-shaped cells and pleomorphic cells. It typically occurs in sun-damaged skin of elderly individuals and appears as a small, raised, reddish or flesh-colored nodule. Although it is considered a low-grade malignancy, it rarely metastasizes or causes significant complications.
