Neera Dahl, MD, PhD
Biography
Neera K. Dahl, MD, PhD, is an internist who specializes in diagnosing and treating kidney ailments, including kidney stones, end-stage renal disease and genetic kidney disorders.
As associate professor of medicine (nephrology) at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Dahl is especially interested in adult-onset autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), which causes patients to develop cysts on their kidneys that can consume the organ, changing its structure and inhibiting function. “I am most interested in studying factors that affect progression in ADPKD,” she says.
Dr. Dahl has been recognized as one of the Top Doctors in the state by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. In addition to her clinical work, she focuses her research on ADPKD, which affects about one in 500 people and is often fatal, as well as similar disorders for Yale’s Center for Polycystic Kidney Disease Research.
