Mamatha Punjala, MD, MBBS

Mamatha Punjala, MD, is an anesthesiologist who provides care for adults and children undergoing inpatient and outpatient surgeries. She focuses on sedation, pain relief, and regional anesthesia, which involves numbing a specific area of the body to help patients remain comfortable.

Dr. Punjala also has a special interest in pediatric anesthesia and has participated in international medical missions to help children requiring surgical care. As an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine, she shares her expertise with trainees while supporting safe and effective anesthesia practices.

She completed her medical training at the University of Bombay in India, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at Maimonides Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine.
