Pediatric Transport Program

When children need an increased level of care not readily available in their closest medical facilities, the Transport Team is on hand to deliver them to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital by ambulance or helicopter in the most critical cases. On arrival, we connect them immediately with the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Emergency Department so they can begin receiving care immediately.

Our specialized equipment and advanced training ensure we can help critically ill or injured children on their way to Yale. Through a partnership with American Medical Response, they safely and efficiently transport children from other regional institutions to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital by ambulance. We are also able to fly with SkyHealth in order to reach critically ill children even quicker.
