Neuro-Ophthalmology

Abnormalities of the central nervous system and brain can impair vision. Partial or temporary blindness and double vision are examples of conditions that may stem from a neurological condition rather than from an eye ailment.

Our neuro-ophthalmologists diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological and other conditions that cause vision problems. They also treat other conditions that can affect vision, such as diabetes and thyroid abnormalities.

Utilizing the latest assessment techniques and tools, including MRIs, CT scans, and ultrasounds, our physicians are able to determine the cause of a patient’s impaired vision. One example is the Visually Evoked Responses test, which helps physicians monitor sight-related electrical impulses inside the brain.

Our neuro-ophthalmologists work closely with other specialists, including neurologists, general practitioners and others, to assess and treat the most complex cases.
