Measures of Anxiety Related Variables in the General Population

This study is for healthy children (6-17 years old) and their mothers. Children and their mothers will be asked to come in for two appointments that are 12 weeks apart. Each appointment will last approximately 2.5 to 3 hours long. During each visit, mothers and children will be asked to complete a series of questionnaires, play a videogame, and participate in videotaped conversations. Additionally, we will also ask that mothers and children provide a small blood and saliva sample. After each visit, participants will be compensated a total of 50$ or a tablet of equal value and receive a validated parking ticket.

Trial Purpose and Description
The purpose of this study is to examine variables that have been found to be related to clinical anxiety – in a sample of normally developing youth with no history of psychopathology. The purpose is enable us to better understand the role that these variables play in clinical anxiety, which we are studying separately. The variables of interest include sociodemographic, behavioral and biological measures.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the study, the child must have no history of any psychiatric/psychological disorders, be within the ages of 6-17, be living with their mother for at least 6 months, and have no intellectual disability as reported by the parent.
