Trial Purpose and Description

The purpose of this study is to map the thalamic and cortical activity during spike-wave seizures in pediatric and adult patients using simultaneous fMRI and EEG recordings.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Confirmed diagnosis of childhood absence epilepsy or juvenile absence epilepsy
  • No other serious health problems or neurological problems
  • 6 years or older

Exclusion Criteria:

  • No history of myoclonic or tonic-clonic seizures
