Trisomy 18, also known as Edwards syndrome, is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of an extra 18th chromosome. This results in a range of developmental and physical abnormalities, including growth delays, intellectual disabilities, and characteristic facial features. Trisomy 18 is the second most common autosomal trisomy after Down syndrome.
