Thymoma

Definition

Thymoma is a rare, typically slow-growing tumor originating from the epithelial cells of the thymus gland. The thymus is a small organ located in the upper chest, responsible for the development of white blood cells called T-cells, which play a crucial role in the immune system. Thymomas are often associated with autoimmune disorders and can be benign or malignant.
