Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP)

Definition

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a rare blood disorder characterized by the formation of small blood clots (thrombi) in the blood vessels throughout the body, leading to a low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), hemolytic anemia, and organ damage. TTP can be caused by various factors, including genetic mutations, autoimmune conditions, or as a side effect of certain medications.
