Testosterone Deficiency

Definition

Testosterone deficiency, also known as hypogonadism or low testosterone, is a condition in which the body produces insufficient amounts of the male sex hormone testosterone. This can result from problems with the testicles, pituitary gland, or hypothalamus. Testosterone deficiency can lead to reduced sex drive, erectile dysfunction, depressed mood, increased body fat, shrinking testicles, and low sperm count.
