Subglottic Stenosis

Definition

Subglottic stenosis is a medical condition characterized by the narrowing of the subglottic region of the airway, which is located just below the vocal cords. This narrowing can lead to difficulty in breathing, voice changes, and other respiratory symptoms. It can be congenital or acquired due to various causes such as trauma, infection, or prolonged intubation.
