Prolactinoma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor of the pituitary gland that produces an excessive amount of the hormone prolactin. This overproduction can lead to various symptoms and complications, including menstrual irregularities in women, erectile dysfunction in men, and infertility in both sexes.
