Post-Thrombotic Syndrome

Definition

Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) is a long-term complication that can occur after a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). It is characterized by chronic pain, swelling, and skin changes in the affected limb due to damage to the veins and their valves from the blood clot.
