Perforated Eardrum, Ruptured Eardrum

Definition

A perforated eardrum, also known as a ruptured eardrum, is a condition where the thin membrane (tympanic membrane) that separates the outer ear from the middle ear is torn or punctured. This can result from various causes, such as infection, trauma, or sudden changes in air pressure, and may lead to temporary hearing loss and increased risk of ear infections.
