Huntington's disease is a progressive, inherited neurological disorder characterized by the degeneration of nerve cells in the brain, leading to movement, cognitive, and psychiatric symptoms. It is caused by a mutation in the HTT gene, which results in the production of an abnormal protein called huntingtin.
