Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), also known as fecal transplant, is a medical treatment that involves transferring fecal matter from a healthy donor into the gastrointestinal tract of a patient. This procedure can be used to treat recurrent Clostridium difficile infections (C. diff) and aims to restore the balance of beneficial bacteria in the gut.
