Calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease (CPPD), also known as pseudogout, is a joint condition characterized by the accumulation of calcium pyrophosphate crystals in the joint cartilage and surrounding tissues. This can lead to inflammation, pain, and swelling in the affected joints, resembling gout but caused by a different type of crystal.
